Once again, the IMEX, the international fair for meetings, incentives, conferences and events, took place in Frankfurt from the 16th to the 18th of May. The spring greeted visitors and exhibitors with wonderful weather, lots of sunshine and a comfortable temperature.
Despite the horrific terrorist attacks in Paris, Berlin, London and recently also in Manchester, which had mostly targeted friendly civilians in tourist locations, the spirit at the fair was hopeful and positive. Germany as a destination, with its hotspots being Berlin and Munich, is still highly in demand and other metropolitan cities such as Hamburg, Dresden and Frankfurt are also gaining more attention.
From an incoming perspective, we find a high dynamic from clients from Argentina and Mexico. Here, Munich and Berlin are highly requested. In addition, it pleases us to see that the Brazilian economy seems to be taking a turn for the better. We have welcomed many of our South American friends to our awesome Munich booth and discussed new projects and concepts with them.
The trend towards digitalization also played an important role at the IMEX. This year there has been much fewer brochures and catalogs; these have been replaced by apps and interactive advertisement tablets which have helped with the orientation and information gathering. Apps are becoming more and more important for events, meetings and incentives. This is clear to us as an Event IT provider but the amount of interest that we have received in our products shows a growing interest from our clients as well.
Whilst enjoying pretzels, Bavarian white sausage – and of course freshly brewed wheat beer- we were very busy at the IMEX. It was wonderful to reunite with the long-term clients and to exchange conversation face to face.
We met plenty of new interesting people at the IMEX who were interested in our helpcentives area, mainly Corporate Social Responsibility projects for the colleagues and sales partners of our clients. We could see firsthand that social engagement is not only crucial in itself but becoming a perpetual necessity for all companies in the future. We are confident that we can further expand this business area in the upcoming months with our partners and clients.
The highlight from our IMEX experience was the pre-and post-tour that we took part in with a group of American and Brazilian clients. It was exciting for us to be able to show the clients what Munich, Berchtesgaden, Salzburg and Kitzbühel have to offer. A big thank you to all our partners who supported us and made the fam trip possible.
In conclusion, an intense and successful week with many great people from all around the world is now behind us and we are looking forward to working with these inspiring people in the future and to make great projects possible!
